After a Long Week . . . .

This photo was taken from the dining room at about 10:00 pm. We finally had a nice breeze to cool off the 80 degree day. After a long work-week, coming home to find deer and an eagle in the yard was a great way to feel separated from the weekly grind. . . not to mention the commute!
Carnations in bloom.

Two young Black-tail bucks. This photo was taken from the back yard at about 7:00 in the evening. They didn't seem to mind the photo-shoot... they resumed their munching after posing.

We heard him screetching from the living room. The crows in the tree were having a fit. Its difficult to tell how HUGE this jumbo-jet of a Bald Eagle was, but as he sat in the tree and the breeze blew him, his feathers lifted off of his back like long hair in the wind. . . giving him the impression of wearing a long fur coat.

We've moved to "The Island"... Now What?

I've been told by lots of people who DON'T live on Camano Island that I don't "really" live on an island. Most of these nay-sayers live on Whidbey. However, every time I pass over Davis Slough I look for water. . . just to make sure they're wrong.

By creating this blog, we hope to share many exciting and new "Island" advantures with those of you who've never been to Camano Island, as well as with those of you who've lived here for many years.
