This White Deer photo was take from our deck at about 8:15 in the evening. I'm sure he's looking at the baby leaves on the new apple and cherry trees we recently planted. I've heard that there are plenty of white deer on Camano, but this is the first one to visit us. Dana has been telling me of this white deer that she sees early in the morning... I was sure she was seeing things... and in serious need of a strong cup of coffee. I stand corrected.

Most people don't even know the deer exist because they live on a former army depot, surrounded by a 24-mile fence meant to keep intruders out – and the deer in.
It is true there are white deers on the Camano Island, I have seen them and know people who live on the island who have regular visit from these beauties...no red eyes just pure white and beautiful...and they love apples!
ReplyDeleteI was on Camano island today and had a young white, deer cross the road in front of me. With it's mother. Beautiful sight. I heard they are extremely rare what a sight indead. I did stop to take some pics while it disappeared into the woods. I feel very blessed.
